On September 23, 2026, the Morehouse Multimedia Center (MMC) officially opened its doors with a program launch and ribbon-cutting ceremony, marking a major milestone for Morehouse College, the Department of Journalism in Sports, Culture, and Social Justice, and the future of multimedia storytelling at HBCUs nationwide.

The state-of-the-art center was made possible through the support of Michael Jordan and Jordan Brand, whose transformative investment in Morehouse has helped expand opportunities for aspiring journalists, filmmakers, broadcasters, podcasters, and content creators. The facility features a modular production studio, professional editing bays, and more than $250,000 in industry-standard equipment designed to prepare students for careers in today's rapidly evolving media landscape.

The grand opening welcomed students, alumni, faculty, media professionals, industry partners, and community supporters who gathered to celebrate the launch of a space dedicated to creativity, innovation, and experiential learning. Through hands-on training in digital storytelling, sports broadcasting, podcasting, filmmaking, and emerging media technologies, the MMC will serve as a hub for students seeking to develop industry-ready skills while telling impactful stories that shape culture and advance social change.

"The Morehouse Multimedia Center represents our vision for preparing students not only to participate in the future of media, but to lead it," said Emani Saucier, inaugural director and co-founder of the MMC.

The significance of the launch quickly extended beyond campus. Within days of the ribbon-cutting ceremony, the Morehouse Multimedia Center garnered coverage from local, national, and industry media outlets, demonstrating broad excitement about the Center's mission and potential impact.

This national attention reflects the growing recognition that the future of media depends on diverse voices, innovative training environments, and access to professional tools. The Morehouse Multimedia Center embodies all three.

As we celebrate this historic opening, we remain focused on the work ahead: empowering students to create, produce, and lead. We are grateful to our students, faculty, staff, alumni, partners, supporters, and the many media organizations that helped share our story with audiences across the country.

The future of storytelling is being created at Morehouse, and this is only the beginning.
