Several students from The Maroon Tiger, Morehouse College’s longstanding student news organization, were recognized at the 2026 Southeast Regional Student Production Awards, presented by the National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences.The team earned an Emmy win and additional nominations in interview and discussion categories, as well as in the promotional video category.

Spotify’s NextGen Creator Program has arrived at Morehouse, awarding five students with $10,000 scholarships each for the Spring 2026 semester. In addition to funding, the college received a donation of state-of-the-art audio equipment to support the scholars as they take over production of the Andrew Young Center’s More Conversations podcast. The Morehouse College Class of 2025 has answered that call with a groundbreaking mixed-media project produced by the Journalism, Sports, Culture, and Social Justice program.

The Maroon Tiger (MT) is celebrating its 100th year anniversary. Founded initially as the Anthanaum in 1898, Morehouse College’s student media organization changed its name to The Maroon Tiger in approximately February 1925.
